SITUATION:

The National Scouting Museum needed a comprehensive communication plan to be developed to ensure daily activities were meeting the established objectives of the NSM Director and Task Force.

TASK:

Develop a comprehensive communications plan that would outline an overall strategy and specific marketing tactics to achieve the NSM goals related to marketing, outreach, development, and education.

ACTIONS:

Conducted a review of existing goals and efforts to achieve these goals. Developed strategies to continue to meet these goals and to address goals that were not being addressed with current efforts. Provided a method for evaluating the success of individual tactics and processes for modifying strategy and tactics when necessary.

RESULTS:

The final plan allowed for decisions to be easily made based on how they fit the strategy and tactics outlined in the plan. Eliminated waste of resources pursuing ideas that did not fit in the strategy or tactics and focused resources on projects that were expected to deliver results.
